Day 1 in Beijing

Arrived in Beijing around 11pm Friday night June 18th. Settled and in bed by 1:30am. Good flights w/ a brisk walk through the Minneapolis airport. Immediate board to our Seatle flight. Seattle to Beijing flight left at 9pm Pacific. Carter was asleep before the airplane left the ground and slept for 7 hours. Everyone else slept off and on.

We had an early day today - 8:30am start for tour of Tienamen Square, Forbidden City, good lunch, and Great Wall. Back to the hotel - very hot and tired. 6:45pm now - going to find some food and shut it down for the evening. We have to be in the lobby ready to go to the airport at 5:30am tomorrow - Sunday. Ugh.

Kids have been real troopers. Carter's had 2 picture requests and 1 hand shake request so far. I've had one picture request by an Indian couple at the GW. Victoria's getting jealous.

Hope to have pictures later tonight or tomorrow. Have to figure out how to do since we can't get blogspot in China. Having to log in to home to update. I'm sure John will get it figured out soon!

Packing Insanity and Organization

This weekend's goal - get us all organized and packed up. Addie's room looks like an explosion of travel stuff. Need to get it all organized and zipped up.

Travel confirmed

We've got our travel confirmed. We get to leave on the 17th and return on the 2nd. Hope all my little ones (and big one) are up for the long flights and airport visits! Not to mention the time change between US and China.

Gotcha day is scheduled for the 21st!

Travel Approval

Received notice today that our Travel Approval is enroute to our adoption agency. Hope to have a travel date next week. Yippee!!!
