Month of April

Went the whole month of April waiting on paperwork - still circulating in China. Meanwhile, we've been working on yard maintenance. Concreting the blocks in the front and new bushes in the back. Mulch distributed everywhere and weeds being pulled. Really just keeping ourselves busy while we wait.

Victoria and Carter have been busy with school. After school activities got a small break in April, but are picking back up again in May. Big events for Victoria this month were Civil War day at school, 5th grade music concert, and Voices of Knights concert at Barnes and Noble. Mom and dad went to open house at Kingsley Jr High to learn all about 6th grade.

Visas

Went to Chicago on Wednesday, March 24th and got our Visas for travel to China. Mom, Victoria, and Carter hit the streets of the windy city. Found the American Girl Doll store, the Lego store, and Navy Pier. We're all VERY ready to hear more news on our travel - like travel dates!!!

Victoria's Birthday

2nd birthday of the year - group of girls to Olive Garden for dinner and a sleep over. Victoria turned the big 11. Can't believe she's going in to 6th grade! Check out her long hair in these photos and the after "mug" shot. Cut off 9 inches for Children With Hair Loss. Mom misses the long hair! Need to find a happy medium.

Carter's birthday

Braved the world of boy-girl party and took Carter and his friends bowling. The boys came back here for a sleep over. We set up a tent in the basement and the boys hung out all night.

While we're waiting

Last few months have been crazy busy. Work, school, hockey, cheer, eat, sleep, repeat... Carter's 8th birthday party - bowling and sleep over as well as the Blue and Gold banquet for Cub Scouts. Victoria had a long weekend competition at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells last weekend, and her team placed 2nd in their division. Another competition this coming Sunday and the final competition next weekend.

Now the paperwork gets delivered to the US Embassy in China for an Article 5 approval then a travel date gets set a few weeks later.
