Day 10 - Consulate Appt. Day

Today is our Consulate Appt. which means we don't really have to do anything. The consulate office is no longer located on Shaimen Island (it's about an hour away) so our guide does all the paperwork. One adult is required to stay in our room after 10am until she calls us in case there is a problem or if they need more info. She doesn't want to have to track us down. At 4pm, we're doing the Red Coach picture in the lobby with all the babies in our travel group. We'll get a pic of all 3 of our kiddo's in their traditional gowns as well. Tomorrow is the oath taking ceremony in the afternoon, and I think we're going to a market in the morning. Went and got a new suitcase this morning. It's not the highest quality, but I just need it to survive until we get home. We could have got a higher quality one, but we already have 2 REALLY nice large suitcases and a good carry on that we specifically got for this trip (thank you mom, Nydra, and John). John's already deemed the new one as Victoria's camping suitcase as she tends to be rough on them at camp.
One of the items in our "baby" backpack that we bought from our adoption agency is an English/Chinese language machine. We got it out again today. She was watching Carter on his DS so we thought she might finally give it a try. It gives the English and Chinese word for each picture. She went through one set of cards, then on the second set, started saying the words in Chinese. Yeah! She can actually say words eventhough we had to really listen in order to hear them. Mama was actually very clear so now it's just a matter of getting her to actually use the word voluntarily! We also used her picture book along side the book and point to grandma and grandpa.
